29 Mar 2009The Shawshank Redemption is a 1994 American prison drama film, written and directed by Frank Darabont, based on the Stephen King novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption. The film stars Tim Robbins as Andy Dufresne and Morgan Freeman as Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding.
The film portrays Andy spending nearly two decades in Shawshank State Prison, a fictional penitentiary in Maine, and his friendship with Red, a fellow inmate. This movie exemplifies the potential gap between initial box office success and ultimate popularity. Despite a lukewarm box office reception that was barely enough to cover its budget, The Shawshank Redemption received favorable reviews from critics and has since enjoyed a remarkable life on cable television, home video, DVD and Blu-ray. It continues to be hailed by critics and audiences alike, 15 years after its initial release, and is ranked among the greatest films of all time.
In 1947, a banker named Andy Dufresne is convicted of murdering his wife and her lover based on strong circumstantial evidence and is sentenced to two consecutive life sentences at Shawshank State Penitentiary in Maine. At the prison, inmate Ellis Boyd “Red” Redding is rejected for parole after having served twenty years of his life sentence shortly before Andy’s arrival. Andy gradually becomes acquainted with Red’s circle of friends, and Red himself, who is known for cleverly smuggling in contraband. After a month of adjusting to his new life, Andy approaches Red and asks him to get a rock hammer, intending to pursue a hobby of rock collecting. Red supplies the hammer for ten dollars, and later fills Andy’s request for a poster of Rita Hayworth.
One day in 1949, while tarring the roof of Shawshank’s license plate factory, Andy overhears the captain of the prison guards, Captain Hadley, bitterly complaining about the taxes he will have to pay on a forthcoming inheritance. Andy approaches Hadley with a solution that will allow him to keep the entire inheritance tax-free; though Hadley nearly throws Andy off the roof initially, Andy’s willingness to set up the transaction for the cost of beer for the tarring crew wins Hadley’s respect. Prior to this, Andy had frequently been beaten and sexually assaulted by a gang called “The Sisters”, led by inmates Bogs and Rooster. After a particularly vicious beating at the hands of the Sisters lands Andy in the infirmary, Bogs returns to his cell from a week in solitary confinement to find Captain Hadley there. Hadley inflicts a brutal nightstick beating on Bogs, which leaves him paralyzed. Bogs is sent away to a state hospital, and the message to the Sisters is clear; Andy is never bothered again.

29 Mar 2009The main differences between a realtor and a real estate broker is the licensing, education, and experience required for each. Both estate agents and brokers must be licensed by the state government they are in, but the licenses for each one has different needs. Licensing requirements for agents and brokers differ from state to state, but most state governments require that a minimum number of classes are taken before a person can take the license test. Training requirements for operators are higher, and the general state also requires them to work as a realtor for several years before being allowed to take the exam.
In general, if a person is interested in buying or selling of property of some kind, an agent that is interacting with. They are required to be licensed by the state they are working in. They are also obliged to work under the supervision of a real estate broker, are not allowed to work independently. Agents are able to perform most basic tasks that a buyer or seller might need. These tasks include the search for properties for a potential buyer, or buyers interested in a property of a negotiation between seller and buyer and seller to help them reach an agreement of sale. Have access to many of the same resources that the broker they work for. Real estate agents do not actually form the contracts themselves, however, any form of help that are actually contracts between the buyer / seller and the broker to work.
Brokers have to pass a more comprehensive test to become licensed, and must also have worked in real estate for a specified period. Once they have passed the test they are able to own, manage or operate his own brokerage. They have several options available to them in which they work. One option is to work independently and perform both roles. Another option is to work for the owner of a real estate company. It is not necessary for a person to be a broker to buy a property company, but in this case, the agent is still required to allow other realtors to work. In this situation, the agent will be able to type in the management of real estate agents working for the company. They can also have their own brokerage, and agents who work directly for them.
Who actually have the legal and financial responsibility for all those working under them. If a customer has a problem with the staff who have been working with, or have any questions that the realtor does not seem to respond to the agent can go to for help. They will try to mediate the situation and if necessary, assign a different person to work with the client. Brokers receive a percentage of the commission when one of the agents working under them sell a home.

29 Mar 2009There’s a lot of buzz about the new Canon Rebel T1i D.S.L.R., the first Rebel with high-definition video capture capabilities. At $800 (body only), this entry-level model is now the cheapest way to get HD-video capabilities in a D.S.L.R. camera.
Canon T1i
The 15.1-megapixel Rebel T1i can record high-definition video at full 1080p resolution (1920×1080) at 20 frames per second. That puts it ahead of Nikon’s D90, which costs $1,000 (body only) and can capture video at 720p (1280×720 pixels) at 24 frames per second. What’s more, the new Rebel can record longer clips than the D90: Up to 12 minutes of 1080p and 18 minutes of 720p. The Nikon D90, by comparison, tops out at about 5 minutes of 720p video. What’s missing? It would be nice if the Rebel’s built-in microphone could record stereo audio.
Looking beyond video, the Rebel’s specs offer a lot to like. The camera combines the affordability of the lower-end EOS Rebel XSi with some features of the high-end Rebel 50D. The Rebel T1i has the same APS-C size CMOS image sensor and DIGIC 4 imaging processor as the 50D. And like the 50D, the T1i includes creative auto mode, which provides a simplified approach to adjusting settings like exposure compensation, aperture and shutter speed. This could prove very useful for snappers who are stepping up to a D.S.L.R. from a point-and-shoot.
The Rebel T1i will be available in May. Canon will also sell a kit version with its EF-S18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS zoom lens for $900.
Want to see more? Here’s a brief hands-on video from CNET. We won’t know until it is reviewed, but it looks like the Rebel T1i will be the entry-level D.S.L.R. to beat this spring.

29 Mar 2009Is credit protected if bank pursues foreclosure?
Q: My mother passed away and left a house with a mortgage. The house has not sold in this market, and the value has declined due to foreclosures in the area. The bank is pursuing foreclosure and naming my mother‘s heirs as defendants to terminate our interests in the property.
We have few resources, and my mother‘s estate was exhausted by the cost of repairing and maintaining the property while trying to sell it.
Is it more cost-effective to go through foreclosure and add a statement to our credit reports explaining that the mortgage was not ours or should we pursue a deed in lieu of foreclosure?
A: My condolences on your loss.
The key to understanding the foreclosure action by the bank is this: The bank’s action is against the bank’s borrower, your late mother, not you. If your mother was the only borrower on the original loan to the bank, you and your siblings or other heirs should not be personally responsible for the loan. Your mom’s estate is responsible for repaying the mortgage.
If the estate has insufficient funds to pay off the lender, the lender has the ability and right to foreclose on the home. But that foreclosure should not affect your credit history or the credit histories of the other heirs.
The bank shouldn’t have your Social Security number nor should the bank have any documents from you obligating any of you to repay the loan. In that case, the loss on the loan is taken by the bank and reported against the borrower — your mom.
If you decide to pursue a deed in lieu of foreclosure, you and the other heirs would be relinquishing to the lender any right you have in the home. But that documentation should not have anything to do with the original debt taken out by your mother. Once again, the person obligated on the debt was your mother, and she bears the loss. In this case, her estate takes the loss on the home. ]
If title to the home was transferred from the estate to its heirs, the duty to repay the loan fell upon those new owners. However, those new owners shouldn’t have a legal and personal obligation to repay that loan. If the loan goes into default, the lender would foreclose on the home and sell the home to satisfy the debt. The credit history of the current owners of the home should not be affected.
You should make sure that you did not sign any documentation with the lender that may have placed your credit at risk with the lender. If you did not, you and the other heirs shouldn’t have to worry about a negative report on your credit histories.
You and the other heirs shouldn’t be penalized by the current lender when you are placed in a position of owning a property you did not buy and for a loan you did not enter into. While you tried to keep up with the expenses of the home, if you found that it was too much and then couldn’t sell it and failed to make the loan payments, the lender remedy is to foreclose on the property.
For more details, and to make sure you are protected in any dealings with the bank, you may wish to speak to a real estate attorney.

27 Mar 2009Introduction
The first time I ate Chinese food in the UK in the 1970s, was very unappealing. Everything came in a gloopy sauce and seemed to taste the same, due to the overuse of monosodium glutamate, a flavor enhancer, supposedly, but in reality, nothing of the sort. Then in the 1980s a new type of Chinese restaurant arrived (at least it took long to reach the provinces) which provided lighter, tastier Chinese cooking show regional differences. There was one drawback, however, was that this new type of restaurant is more expensive than the original is in bad taste are cheap. Therefore, I thought how nice it would be to cook Chinese food at home, but I had no idea where to start until BBC TV came to my rescue in the form of Ken Hom, born in the U.S. Cantonese cooking of the parents.
Ken presented Chinese cuisine in this easily-understandable, demonstrating techniques and suggesting alternative ingredients if the original is not available in your local supermarket. The book that accompanied the series, Ken Homís Chinese cuisine became my Bible and I still have my copy, the pages stained with oil drops and smears of sauce.
To help you on your way to cooking Chinese food at home, IIM will briefly describe the basic equipment, ingredients and techniques you need to know in order to produce some simple and tasty dishes. I hope you enjoy the article and that inspires you to cook!
Team
Although there are many tools and pieces of equipment you can buy, to start on the road to cooking your own Chinese food, which really only need a good knife or two and a wok. Woks come in all shapes and sizes, can be non-stick, flat bottom, which can even be electric these days but I still prefer my old carbon steel with a rounded bottom and Wok is a wooden handle. This is a Pau wok. These are available in Chinese supermarkets and are much less expensive than other varieties. There is an important task, however, before you’re ready to cook with a wok, and this season it is. Will need to rub a cream cleaner to remove any oil residue and drying machine with care. Put the Wok on simmer. Rub the inside of the Wok with two tablespoons of cooking oil using kitchen towel. Let the heat slowly Wok 10 to 15 minutes and then wipe the interior with more than cooking. The paper will go black. Perform the coating, heating and cleaning of the kitchen until it was clean towel. Your Wok is ready for use. After use, simply wash in water without detergent and dry thoroughly on low heat. You can also apply a little oil if desired. This should prevent the oxidation of Wok, but if it does develop rust, weeds and the season ends again.
Like the wok, you will need a wok stand, particularly if you have an electric hob. Wok This keeps stable when used for frying or braising.
You will also need something to stir with n any spatula, slice or slotted spoon ñ metal to make a Wok metal and plastic or wooden for a non-stick wok.
Ingredients
Before going out and buying all the Chinese section at the supermarket, keep in mind that some ingredients Donita continue well if left unused. Just select something simple to your choice of cookery books and buy the things you need to then you can expand your selection as you progress through different dishes.
Some storage cupboard ingredients that will almost certainly need are dark and light soy sauce, a kind of cooking oil and sesame oil, rice wine or sherry and cornstarch. For more information, see my article Chinese Cooking - Ingredients and equipment.
Techniques
Stir fry –
The most famous of Chinese cooking technique is stir-frying. Here is where to Wok your own as a result of its shape and size (at least 14 inches in diameter with deep sides) is ideal for quick cooking. The secret of success is to stir-fry all the ingredients ready in advance.
Meat should be cut according to the recipe, but usually in thin strips. Vegetables, but in any event must be of similar shapes and sizes to ensure even cooking. Long thin vegetables such as spring onions, carrots or asparagus are often cut on the diagonal, so that more surface is exposed to cook faster. Measuring sauce ingredients - check the recipe - they are all added to the antenna at the same time, you can put them all in a small bowl. If you include cornstarch, Donita forget to give it a good stir before adding to other foods.
Once you have everything prepared, heat up your Wok is hot add oil and then use your choice stirring implement ensure that the oil is distributed evenly over the surface of the wok. Before you add your ingredients. The Wok should be so hot that it is almost smoking - this will prevent the food is greasy. The exception to this is if you smell oil with garlic, peppers, spring onions, ginger or salt - these will burn if the oil is too hot.
Now add the other ingredients in the order the recipe and pour over the surface of the Wok ensure that does not rely on one place for long and move food from the center of the Wok on the sides. I suggest you use an apron or other protective clothing for this operation as often spit the food due to high temperatures in cooking.
Fry
You can use your Wok frying but be very careful with security that is balanced on its stand. Under no circumstances leave unattended. Fry in a wok uses less oil to a saucepan or deep fryer, but you can find these safe and easy to use.
When frying, make sure the oil is hot enough before adding ingredients or food very greasy final. Evidence that the removal of a small piece of prepared food or a cube of bread. If the oil bubbles around what was then reduced hot enough.
Make sure the fried foods that are completely dry in kitchen towel or draining of its marinade before cooking otherwise spit.
Shallow frying
This is the same as the Western technique. Fry food on one side and then the other and drain off any excess oil before adding sauce ingredients. A normal frying pan is fine for this.
Vapor
Steam is widely used in Chinese cuisine. You can use a bamboo steam in a wok, a heat-proof bowl in a rack in a wok or large skillet or others can use a normal European steamer.
If using bamboo or a steam plate in a wok, bring about 2 inches of water to a simmer. Put your Wok in the rack (if the vapor bamboo is large enough and will sit on the sides of the Wok without being in the water, you need a frame Donita) and equilibrium vapor or plate of food in it. Put the lid on his steamed or Wok and check occasionally to see if the recharge water needs (use of water is already hot).
Whatever method you use, make sure the food is above the water level and isnít wet.
Braising
As with Western cooking, braising is used for tougher cuts of meat and involves gentle cooking of meat and / or taste of the vegetables in stock. Red-braising is the technique where a liquid is braised in dark soy sauce gives food a red / brown. This type of braising sauce can be frozen and reused.

27 Mar 2009Do you have lumps in your white sauce? For the white sauce (bechamel) sauce, or the slow cooking to thicken with a whisk egg and you can change the temperature (but not too much) to complete the process up.and you wont get any lags in him.
Turn your grill into an open gourment oven. Would you like to try a new recipe grill, a hood over the grill, you do not have. Try using a wok or a domed lid lid. This works very well. Ideal for frying, when camping out.
Never again buy frozen bakery products. They hate the short pastry. Use a kitchen whiz instead of the usual manual method. Use a little less than fluid, may be asked in the recipe.Just whiz until all the dough into the shape of a ball. If it is not in the form of a ball, you only need a touch more liquid. The liquid recipe depends on what you need for your pastries.
Have your Pogatschen rather rock cakes? Make your scones in a kitchen whiz. Many people simply can not Pogatschen no matter what happens. In general, the problem is too much handling. With the whiz eliminate this problem.
Also, try and make your scones, as if people or the family at the table waiting. In other words, the less time you spend means less handling. The mixture should be fairly moist not dry, after the milk.
Turn on a floured board and top a few times with the tips of the fingers on the extra four in. This should be only about 5-8 seconds. Pat gently into shape and in whatever form Pogatschen you want - round or square, whatever.
Scones apparently best when cooked, which is variously described as a rising oven. In other words: Turn your oven on not too long before you begin to mix your scones and if they are in the oven is still not quite reached the required temperature.
I have this possibility, scones, as I crew on a yacht, when I was younger and the guys want morning tea and see if they flatter me into some. Hence my reference to a waiting audience. The furnace was only a small tabletop unit gas oven, and I would make it to the maximum temperature, and then throw the flour butter and milk together. They were very impressed, and I was very surprised at the result. I was not sure my skills in Scone as my mother could never scones - it was those who came from as balls.
I have my mother later in the scones in the kitchen whiz, if they are about 65 and she was surprised that she finally learned to Scone, the edible.
I might add that Pogatschen was a regular morning tea point
Are your curries chewy? Do you have problems working if a casserole or curry cooked. If the oil (fat) rises the court is cooked. All meat dish casseroles are fat and when they released the meat is cooked.
Are you missing the magic ingredient? Have you ever cooked a curry or casserole and the taste just a little bit, and you can work exactly what is needed. Maybe, it seems as if the taste is not quite together. It is a small intangible ingredient that is missing. Try a very small amount of sugar and you will be surprised how it seems to mix and the gentle taste in a harmonious combination. The taste is no longer in the fight against each other.
Whoops Have you ever slipped with the salt in the cooking pot? Have you added just a touch too much salt to a recipe. Never sugar to the mistake of trying to squeeze lemon juice.
I hate washing roasting pans. Would you like baked potatoes but hate occasionally wash the pan afterwards. Here is a simple straightforward process, and it uses less fat. Cut each potato with the skin on, cut in half so that the largest surface. Add a little margarine and to the cutting of the potato. Then sprinkle with salt and pepper if you like.
Put the potatoes with butter buttered side down on a sheet of aluminum foil wrap. Fold the foil and seal. In the preheated oven 200 degrees Celsius and cook for about half an hour. When cooked and packed carefully pull the foil from potatoes and serve. Take the foil in the trash, and voila - beautiful scrisp roasted potatoes and no chaos.

Each tea is made from different ingredients and each tea has its advantages and disadvantages. I will explain.
What you should always remember is that there are only four kinds of tea.
1) Black Tea
2) Green tea
3) White tea
4) Oolong tea
All these are from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, also known as the tea plant. Other herbal teas such as chamomile tea, ginger tea or red tea from rooibos leaves are excluded, as types of tea because the tea plant is not in their origins. The difference between the four tea variations lies in the production are. In addition, each type of tea has a different taste and different health benefits.

4) Oolong tea
The traditional Chinese tea is a common companion of Chinese foods like Dim Sum and Chop Suey in American Chinese restaurants. The Oolong tea, black dragon in Chinese, was named after its long, dark leaves are different, like wild black dragons when brewed. The unique taste of Oolong tea is a long process of drying the Sunday Camellia sinensis leaves, light oxidation, cooling and drying. The result is a lighter flavor than the popular black tea and more than the delicate green tea.
